Default Marc Gruber-Laux - WIP

Hi,

great start by everyone so far. I´m a little late with my WIP, but I hope I can keep up in the next days !

My ambition was to create an interior where every shape is motivated by the design. My hope is that in the end it´s possible to see the room as a whole design and not as the numbers of different shapes. I also tried to keep the design as "pure" as possible, as the single shapes are. So far 2 shapes are left and i hope I can intergrate them to the design in the next step.

The next goal is to create a special mood with materials and lighting. The room is an exhibition hall and the "holes" in the right wall are for a special reason....hope i can show it the next days, when it is ready.....hmmmm, a lot to do in the next days, I think I must hurry a bit ;-) so far it´s still very rough

Hey ! great thought and strong design ! the best would be to keep the design as simple as possible that you will immediatly recognize all the shapes... maybe the room is to deep ...

Hi marc, just off topic. i notice that all the mesh in the scenes that you have posted here have a relativlely higher facecount, for example the wall could be a box with 12 faces but instead has a lot of faces / segmentation on it .. also the cylinder could have been done with a lesser number of segmentation and still retained the smooth look.. are you deliberately ignoring the optimisation part of 3d modelling, or is there something else in you mind when you do so .. pls elaborate.

Our new Architecture building has corridors having exactly the same concept. it has light wells on the ceiling and holes on the walls to allow light inside. pretty cool especially when you could see the volume light effect.

okay, still a lot to do...especially the area in the back. all shapes are now in the scene, more or less in the foucs. but here´s a first
impression of the mood and the lighting. more tomorrow...

Good design & good lighting. I'm not too crazy about the tilted camera though. I think the design alone should be enough without tilting the camera to create added interest.

Nice design. I agree about the tilted camera, makes me dizzy.

very nice light and a wonderful floor texture ! from an architectural point of view it's somewhat strange to have sunlight and all those lights switched on at the same time. but this contest is not about ecology anyway
