The individual challenge scores however will determine if you are elegible for individual challenge prizes.
Maybe the terminology used in the competition website is not that clear because it's written (for example, the current challenge):Top 20 Challenge Winners Announced....I tought that each challenge was independant from the other and the cumulative scoreboard will be used only to determine the ranking for prizes.

I've just posted the average weighted scores based on each category as determiend by the 6 judges. These scores do not factor in the scores added based upon the rankings awarded by the public vote:

I did not realize that it is cumulative point system. I believed it was based on elimination and every challenge is like a fresh start. Now, say if I am the last person of a particular challenge, I guess I wouldn't have the motivation to do the next, would I? And say if there is a large difference in cumulative score between the first and the second at Challenge#5, wouldn't that make that last round irrelevant?? I think there should be a statement at the beginning of the competition stating clearly how the final winner is to be determined. Also, there should be measures to prevent demoralization of the competitors, especially if their culmulative scores are made known at each stage.

In the end, the goal is to award the top prizes to the most well rounded competitors. Whether we use a cumulative system or based on the score for each challenge ,the end result is nearly the same. If you are not well rounded you you will not place in the top 3. In theory yes if someone were to place first in three or so challenges it could be difficult to "unseat" them, however I have my suspicions that this will not happen. And even if it were to happen, don't forget that everyone walks away with a prize and the top 10 placements get some really nice awards. Each challenge winner will also be awarded either an IPOD, IPAQ or Digital Camera (this is based on the challenge, not the cumulative score), so I think that is plenty of insentive to try your best to win the challenge. I think you also need to look at this competition as one where you were very fourtunate to have been chosen and one where you have the oppourtunity to get feedback from many talented people in this industry (the other competitiors), get valuable feedback from our judges, not to mention the exposure you are getting. It should not be all about the prizes. Out of over 300 entries you were selected as the best, so you should be demonstrating to everyone that you are one of the best and can perseverse througout the challenge.
