At the end of last week I found an email lurking in my spam folder from Vizmasters 'reminding' me that the prize for getting into the last 30 expired on the 15th May, a day earlier.
I haven't been able to get any response from them since to see if they'll be flexible about this. The email suggests this deadline was already publicised but I can't find any mention of it. Anyone else had any problems? Last edited by dbarc; May 19th, 2005 at 03:13 AM. |

no but it is common these days that they do that to you...If I count every time thr rules are missing or in extremely small letters or they send you 24 pages to read... they do it on purpose...

I also missed the initial email sent by Vizmasters, as it was flagged as spam. Actually, I had no idea who Vizmasters was, or that they were in any way related to either Archvision or the competition. It probably would have beeen better to have that message relayed through the CGA forum, I suppose. Anyway, I paid attention to the reminder email and took care of the order, but I can certainly relate to your situation. It would make a lot more sense to have the "deadline" for claiming your prize occur after the competition is over, and in a more recognizable manner.

I still haven't had any reply to my emails to Viz masters so I assume it's tough luck on my part.
I'm seriously not impressed. They should have made the deadline alot more clear. Also, what have they gained by setting this deadline in the first place? Sure it means they have saved themselves some money by being able to withdraw their prize but as a director of an expanding visualisation company I'm not exactly in the mood to consider any of their wares in the future. Great PR chaps.. |

Hello folks,
There was probably a little confusion about these prizes as the ArchVision sponsorship was changed to represent VisMasters, a new initiative of ArchVision. So the contest began listing ArchVision as the sponsor of the prizes and was switched to VisMasters. Of course our goal is to make sure that all 30 contest winners receive their prizes. That is why we sponsored the contest. Of the 30 winners that we contacted via email (on April 21st) with instructions about how to claim their prizes, 1 bounced back and 20 responded with their information. We asked that they try to complete the process before May 15th. We then tried to recontact the 9 that had not responded. We have not heard from any of those 9. Of the 20 that responded we've had 7 complete the process and receive their prizes. The other 13 apparently opted not to complete the process. I guess it is possible that those who did not respond did not receive our email(s), but we did not receive any bounce-backs. The contest winner whose email did bounce back was contacted by us by fax and we have not heard back. The best we can do is send emails to the winners with instructions as to how to claim their prizes. If spam filters are stopping those emails there is not much we can do to get information to the winners (I guess we could send them postcards by postal mail) If any of the winners have not claimed their prizes and would like to do so, they can send an email to admin@vismasters.com and we'll make sure they are taken care of. We weren't trying to make it difficult. There were no 20 page licenses to read, only a couple of paragraphs in an email about how to claim the prizes. Keep up all of the great work! Thanks, Randall Stevens President ArchVision, Inc. |

Steve,
Thanks for responding. There is clearly a communication problem - I think we're probably exchanging spams as you don't seem to have received my emails to vismasters.com either. Maybe it would be better if AVC 2005 related issues were communicated via CGarchitect.com's own user email system? |
