Another very effective image done with low-key color. But there is color, like under the floor balconies, the clothing. The layering of the elements is really pleasing. It's so hard to do yet done so well. There are some complex relationships shown here with how this space goes together and they are shown with careful control of color and contrast--underside to edge, one type of structure to another. I think all the wires confuse, but fortunately they are played down. I don't know what the shape is in the foreground, but it's good there.

I wonder if this image came to you as an architectural idea, without a 'view' in mind, or a pre-formed image.

What bothers me about it is the outside--its awfully bright for a rainy day, and it seems like much worse weather on the right than out the back end. Minor, those.

The architectural exploration was very successful. The image looks very convincing, and the colors selection very adequate. I consider the intention with the rainy scenario to be well accomplished. There are some issues on the ceiling with color bending that contrast with the overall excellence of the illustration.

Great cropping! Brings out the drama and verticality of the space. One understands the relationship between the object and void. One can get a sense of occupation and movement. The umbrellas are a great touch to understand the exterior climate. It gives unity to the whole image.

I would like to applaud the complexity of the model - though my sense is that the model took so long that the time you had to spend on organizing the canvas etc…was severely hampered.

One thing that this may be a lesson in is that – people are intellectually impressed with complexity – but the sublime in art is really about value, composition, and I think to a lesser extent chroma.

I like that I can zoom in and read how this thing might be constructed – but the image as a totality needs to be sufficiently compelling that I am caught up in it and want to look. Right now the unrelieved dark forms vs. the light from their interiors next to the curtain wall are just killing you. I would recommend that starting by reworking the light on them, and then spending some time on the light from the outside spilling onto the floor – overcast days aren’t really all that much darker – they just disperse the light much more uniformly.

Agreed, a very rich vertical image with an interesting choice of weather (breaking sun). The diffraction of wet glazing is excellent, and compelling Grimshaw-like design. Areas to improve could be the materiality of the wood paneling, the panels don't feel separated. Also, the ceiling surfaces feel too CG, and could use further material definition. Nice..
