hey,
I recently bought the book " Envisioning architecture - Drawings from The Museum of Modern Art " , i think you can find it at www.thamesandhudson.com It's a really nice overview of how architecture, drawings/views has been approached... sorted by architects. It is more or less a kind of catalogue, not an essay. Problably it's not exactly what you are looking for but it's nice to have it. cheers Olivier |

"A pattern Language" is an excellent book. It features hundreds of short chapters that start from how to properly lay out a whole city down to the intricacies of trim in a house. It is made very well...even though it is about 40 years old, it still has excellent theory.
