Default Challenge 4 questions

Hi,

Just wondering if we are allowed to include some short credits/acknowledgements in addition to the 20 seconds we are allowed to use for the animation.

Another question is whether or not we are required to use the whole thing as a continous 25/30 fps. I'm just wondering because I might necessarily want to use the whole time as full motion and might want to hold some frames for longer than others. I think I want to make it a mix of animation and some very quick snapshot like shots.

On a side note, I can't believe how fast 20 seconds goes by, so this is going to be a real challenge to make it count.

And a HUGE thanks to Jeff for getting us all time on the farm for this one. I've always wanted to try Res Power, so this will be a great opportunity.

Credits are ok and can be in additiona/over and above the 20 seconds. The length should be 20 seconds...the frame rate to acheive that time is irrelevant. Doing some stills creatively mixed in is ok too, but you are being judged on yuor animation path and cinematics, so be aware of that.

PS. I'm hoping I don't see credits with 15 people.

Or, put another way, must the clips be EXACTLY 20 seconds, or at least 20 seconds?

In two weeks I'm going to need to hire a renderfarm, but it'll be all booked with you folks! EEK!

To clarify it should be no more than 20 seconds. If you can pull it off in less and still effectively communicate the emotion and feel for the space, all the better.

No worries Ernest about them jamming up the works for you. Both render farm companies have stipulated that paying farm work will take priority over challenge submissions. Each of the competitors was sent an email with all of the details and this restriction.

It should be challenge 2 or 3. While I don't see a problem with doing both technically, becuase the rules were written with either or, I don't want to change the rules at the point to be fair to everyone.

Both the WIP and FINAL forums have been enabled to allow up to 650MB uploads for MOV files. I'm not sure how this is going to work yet, so please let me know if there are any problems. I have a feeling the time out scripts might kick in before the files can upload all the way. Try it out and let me know.

Hahaha, what!? You mean this competition isn't a team effort??? No, it will probably just be a credit for the music I am using, which I got permission to use finally after asking for it about 2 weeks ago. Perfect timing! I was getting worried I'd have to make my own, and that would not have been pretty.

I definitely don't have a problem with it. Seeing Olivier's 2&3 entries, they would go hand in hand together. The rules don't specifically say that you have to either stay inside or outside your model, so I think we should be allowed a little flexibility in choosing how we want to approach this.

I'm fine with this, but I need eveyone to agree on this. Everyone. Last time I only got about 40% of the people's opinions and caught flack for it.
