Default need a tree

hi fellers

i need a 2d photo of this tree -

It's a London Plane tree. The client is being VERY specific. i need this tree, or something that looks extremely similar to it. not too dense, and similarly shaped. just like the phot. i dont mind paying for it.

preferably on a fairly plain backround

i've scanned the web for freebees and paid ones, but no luck as of yet as most are a complete nightmare to cut out. i could cut out this hi-res one i got, but again, i cant afford the time or effort.

Those are VERY common in NY. But your photo is a very young one, I'm used to them beig 75' tall. A little older and you get the mottled bark effect that makes them so nice.

Since they get quite big are you certain you want to show such a young one?

well, i'm only going by the client's request.

the thing is, i have a busy street with a central reservation. i initially put thick dense 10-15 year old trees in. they looked the biz, but obscured everything (which suits me ) so the client came back with this type of tree at this age. they look kinda weedy in the render, but i've left them with him for approval.

Strat

what was the original resolution of The Tree Image
before you FotoChopped It into a plane Tree bitmap

??

how long did It Take you To do This??
what software did you use? FotoChop??

i am Thinking about getting a D-SLR This next month
and was wondering about The workflow to cut Trees
i am still using PS 5.5 so i know That i got To upgrade

more Than idle curiousity

does a wacom-Type digital Tablet help any?
or is This more of just using the extraction utility

??

Thanks in advance

Randy

err.....umm...no special tricks or software i'm afraid

the digital dabbler posted up some london planes as you can see. i copied these directly into photoshop 6 (you can check the res out for yourself) then cutted and pasted branches together. took all of 10 mins. just made me an alpha image then.

really basic stuff. photoshop 3 can do this with ease

Hi Strat and Martin,

I would love to have some trees like this in my library.

As you have posted them here, I'm assuming anyone could d/l and use them, but I wanted to ask you first if that would be OK, and also if it would be OK to use them in my commercial work? (i.e. in a visual, not sold as a 2D tree collection !)

Anyway, I'll wait to hear from you guys before I do.

Thanks for sharing,

D.
