Here are a couple I snapped, good looks exceeded only by intelligence, of course. A wonderful event, a fantastic venue, and talented individuals all around made for a great evening!
1) Stephane Gourgout (Bionatics), Scott Cox (HP), Jeff Mottle (CGA), Jean-Michael (Bionatics) 2) Stephane Gourgout, Jeff Mottle. Jean-Michael 3) HP's Booth at SIGGRAPH Last edited by Karen; August 13th, 2005 at 01:09 AM. |

I took the first picture for my son, Luke. Everyone was there...
The second for my other son, Kyle. Everyone there was at the Maya booth, always a crowd. I'm hoping Kyle stays interested in character work and stays away from arch-vis. Finally, it says something about the people at Siggraph that there was always a huge line at the Starbucks in the convention hall. Hey, Jeff--Would you please email me the full-res photo of me by the Xwing? I want to print it for the Little Guy. Last edited by Ernest Burden; August 13th, 2005 at 07:54 AM. |

That Starbucks line, as well as the food at the convention center, is always unbelievable. If Starbucks/convention center people were smart, they would put a few more carts around for people to get their caffeine fix.
I just can't believe how people can stand in that kind of line after walking and standing all the time on the floor! Can we say a d d i c t e d to caffeine??? I personally prefer Peet's. Now I better go get my cup of coffee! |

Here's some shots I took. A couple from the Lucas keynote, one from the autodesk party in downtown (the swimming pool remained unused unfortunately) and a couple of gratuitous non-Siggraph shots of the Getty Centre just because it's so bloody marvelous.

I must admit it did occur to me for a second to try and pass it off as a rendering. Just a second mind!
I'd have to say it's one of the best buildings I've seen. I went for the morning. Without even getting on to the art I ended up staying the whole day. A few more photos here http://www.flickr.com/photos/dbarc/sets/732845/ |

Hey that reminds me, I took photos of the Disney Concert Hall across the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion. I hope you guys saw the building! JUst posted it on Flickr too.
Anyhow here are the pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/49802655@N00/ Enjoy! I treated the building as an abstract palette
