Default Architecture in Perspective 2005 - Washington, DC

The American Society of Architectural Illustrators announces its 2005 Conference in Washington, DC. The program will be a vibrant mix of traditional and digital arts, to be held at the Catholic University School of Architecture, the Library of Congress, and the National Gallery.

Digital presenters include Cristobal Vila of Spain (www.etereaestudios.com) Dennis Allain of Boston, winner of this Formal Award for architectural illustration (www.dennisallain.com), and Alex Lindsay of Pixel Corps (www.pixelcorps.com).

Thanks, I had forgotten about that.

I may go, as its not all that far away. What am I saying? LA was a five hour plane trip, DC is a five hour drive, probably similar by train from NY.

Anyway, they have two hotels listed. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn/Capital Hill, its nice. The pool is on the roof with a good view. I don't know the other hotel.

And everything I would want to do there happens on Thursday, so it could be a short trip.

Looks like it would be really a great event. I wish I could go but I would need more time to plan something that far away. Maybe next year... I'm guessing that it's not in the same place every year, but probably usually somewhere in the eastern US?

One year it was in Australia.

It's held in the home area (usually) of the current president. I don't know where next year. Last year was Providence, RI.
