Default Salt Lake Graphics Society

I've been in touch personally with all the members who live in the Utah area about this already, but I know there are a lot of people who browse the forums but don't post so I thought I would put this here. This is something I've been wanting to get started for a number of years, and now it's finally going to happen. There are about 7 of us from various graphics industries who are putting this together and it's been a lot of fun. It will be interesting to see how many show up. Anyway, read the pdf for all the info.

Had you seen the CGsociety? They allow you to set up chapters. I think there are some perks to doing this.

Oh yes, I've tried many times to get in touch with them. They seem to be fairly informal about about local chapters right now. I did get one e-mail from them but they don't seem to be taking what I've told them about our group very seriously. Maybe because this isn't L.A, N.Y., etc. I had hoped to get them involved from the get go, and tried to get in touch with the necessary people at Siggraph but kept getting pushed to the side. I left my e-mail, and 2 phone numbers and still nothing. Oh well, maybe after we have something going they can get on board.

I have also been in touch with the Siggraph local chapters folks and they have been much more responsive and supportive. We do in fact need to have a certain number of meetings with a certain number of people and all sorts of other things done before we can become a siggraph chapter but at least they are talking to me.

BTW, I can't access the link you posted... maybe you have to be a CGSociety member to get there?
