I have 3d Max installed on two machines. Rendering with MR, one machine uses two buckets, the other uses one. Both machines are similar in speed etc... neither is dual core or multi processor. Does it render quicker with two buckets? How can i get the second bucket on the other machine?
Thanks |

The render engine understands the P4 Hyper threading as another thread, not another processor, therefore another bucket appears. It should be slightly faster than the common processors. See if the other computer has that resource. If it does you'll have to activate it through the bios.

interesting and thanks. It makes sense i think, the machine with two buckets is intel p4, the other is an AMD 64 3500. does that have hyper threading? I ll have to check that out.
