Hey all,
I need to make different stone textures that are in the attached image. Right now, I'm using the stone wall texture that comes with VIZ. This works very nice...but now it needs to vary. (This is going to be used in a color changer, so people WILL compare one to the other). Does anybody have any experience with doing variations like these? The first thing that comes to mind is taking a picture of the house...but I don't have time to find the house and edit the picture. The 2nd thing that comes to mind is change the colors in photoshop....but some of these the rock sizes change....and it's hard to tell exactly how color changes from sample to sample from these swatches. A lot of company sell brick textures, and Acme Brick comes in handy very often...but are there people selling stone textures? Like..not just 1 or 2 walls, but variations like I would need. So, does anybody have any advice? |

I don't think this is exactly what you're looking for, but it might help:
http://www.eldoradostone.com/flashsite/ There is a small download link on the top left that will lead you to some seamless texture maps of some of their products. |

Sweet...thank you, Randy. I signed up to get a CD...it talks about 300 stone products on there...how many tileable jpgs do you have on that CD? 300?!

Ive used the eldorado stone textures and the stoneCAD CD, and the eldorado stone textures are a lot nicer--less tiling and bigger images.
But, the stone CAD cd does have a much bigger selection of stones. |

Hi arron
Im also having some trouble with stone textures and more often than not my stone textures end up quite blurry with very little bump. I use cinema 4d 8.5v. Anyone any suggestions for a clearer sharper stone |

my god i just went to be last night absolutely crapping myself about the lack of textures i could find of these stacked stone walls. That link is pure gold Ray.
I've been calling up alot of the construction material companies in australia and requesting their product guides. These things are awesome. No guessing colours or anything. Comes with swatches, sizes, shapes and even installation guides so I can see exactly how it sits on/on a building. Awesome stuff. Thanks again Ray. Life saver! |

Wow...you resurected a thread I started 2 years ago when I first started my job. I feel like I just stepped back into time.
By the way, I still use and love the Stone CAD textures. |
