Default Need software recommendations.

I am looking for software that will allow me to take paper blueprints and turn them into a 3d model for the purpose of showing clients a walkthrough of a condominium/house/etc. that has not yet been built. This is for a real estate broker that would like to provide that service to its clients. I have been asked to help start this, and I am curious if I will need CAD experience or not. Is there such a program that will allow me to just punch in numbers and it will generate a 3d model? Thanks in advance!

In a way, CAD is just a case of puncing in the no.'s, maybe slightly more complex than your thinking tho.

I don't know of any software that will just let you punch in the no.s - i think it will always be the case that you'll have to have some CAD / software specific experience, and usually the more experience you have with it the better the results will be. Hopefully that'll always be the case because alot of people of this board will be out of work otherwise.

Software wise, AutCAD - Viz/Max with a 3rd party renderer such as Vray is the most common although there are other software packages be used too such a cinema4D

in a slightly joking sense, i think PovRay is purely punching in numbers. otherwise, i would probably recommend that you contract this out if the deadline is near.

To get to a walkthrough from a blueprint is not something a layman can do. You need experience in modelling, texturing(optional depending upon the clients' needs) and animation-and you need a good knowledge of the correct tools.
Otherwise, the finished product will be a joke and I mean this in the most helpful manner. It takes a long time to learn each of the above.

As Travis says, contract out to a specialist.
