Default Branko Jovanovic - Final

Rather intuitive vision I had about this project. Space should be both part of the surrounding natural landscape and closed, isolated world on it's own. Stucture is simplified, stripped, roughened and weathered, ancient concrete illustrate man's contemplation about time and history from Piranesi to Le Corbusier and Louis Khan. Space piecefull and contemplative as well as live and full of growth (suggested by water and humidity)...

Modeling/Texturing: Its nice to see textures on all surfaces but still not too exciting. The textures seem a bit phony but they improve the modeling work. The rocks have some nice texture work. The dirt mapping is distracting.
Lighting: The lighting creates a nice feel. The image also has well placed highlights. However, the strips of rope lighting are poorly done.
Composition: The composition is weak -the structure looks like it is falling over.
C/O/D: The image doesn’t feel inspired.
Unity: The image does have an even feel
Brief: The scale of the space looks very small

Modeling/Texturing: The textures are good, and really help give a sense of scale to the building. The modeling is well done, but not outstanding.
Lighting: The lighting is good, I just wish there was more "stuff" to shade and highlight.
Composition: The overall composition is very good - the central column does a good job of directing the eye from the foreground to the shell of the dome. The trees do a nice job of adding a depth cue to the middle ground at the lower left.
C/O/D: Probably the weakest aspect of this image - as pleasant as the scene is, the overall effect is somewhat sterile and lifeless. More entourage would have really helped.
Unity: The scene is unified, but I would have liked to see a lot more color and more "punch".
Brief: The rendering does a good job of describing the architecture, but misses the mark by not fully immersing the viewer in the scene.

The modeling is well done, along with the texturing, especially the texturing on the rocks. The lighting is good as well, although it is not all that dramatic or informative of the space.

The composition is fine. We appreciate the low view from the ground, but it tends to accentuate the dark recesses at the bottom of the design. We don't think the camera tilt is helping here.

Some of the vegetation is done well, but there is not enough of it. Actually the place looks somewhat abandoned. (This is a rendering that would be helped by adding people.)

Overall the rendering is very 'unified', But a lack of people and plants make the space feel empty and not so grand.

A technically strong image, though.

modelling and texturing work well - the rocks and concrete work well together. The lighting is nicely done and helps delineate the architecture. Shame there are no people though to give it a sense of scale and some narrative content.

I like the composition of the image, and also the style of the architecure. There are areas that let the image down. Attention to detail, especially structural ones. For example hooks that dont actually attach to anything.
By far the weakest part of the image is the more natural side. Bad tree alphas, poorly modelled rocks, and strange mud like water, it just seems a little sterile.
Would have been nice to see a little bit more dynamic light quality, to really emphasise the effort that has gone into the roof structure, and really green lush nature inhabiting the floor.
