Default DeCai Meng-Final

Design is originated from life, however, it is beyond life.
My design is not only the replica of an ecological park, but also,
it makes you feel you are in a scientific movie.

Modeling/Texturing: There is really nice modeling in the rails and in the center tower. Unfortunately, the lighting obscures the modeling and you can’t appreciate the hard work.
Lighting: The lighting needs a bit more brightness in the left sky area maybe with a hot spot or sunset to brighten it up. The lighting techniques have a lot of potential.
Composition: The composition is striking. You took a chance with the angel but there is no sense of the dome. Suggestion-If the viewer could see the dome structure in the background that’d improve the overall success of the image.
C/O/D: The dragon is distracting and out of place but there is a nice overall creativity and some technically difficult aspects are noticeable.
Unity: Nicely unified
Brief: The image doesn’t speak to the purpose of the building.

Modeling/Texturing: The foreground up to the tower is very nice, but it's hard to tell what's going on in the rest of the dome.
Lighting: I can see what you're going for with a dramatic focus on the tower and walkway. The warm light inside the tower is very good and is a nice contrast with the rest of the scene. I would like to see more range of value in the background, perhaps with a brighter sky.
Composition: For most part is good, though I generally don't like tilted horizons. In this case, I don't think it's tilted enough to really do anything for you so it comes across as arbitrary. The "creature" in the upper left seems a little too strong and somewhat distracting. That said, the foreground is well composed with a clear sense of sequence leading to the tower element.
C/O/D: This is a very unique and well executed rendering of the foreground. Eliminating the detail from the background significantly reduces the technical difficulty.
Unity: The foreground is very well unified, but the dome in the background does seem unresolved and somewhat out of place.
Brief: Again, the decision to focus so strongly on one element is a departure from the brief and doesn't give the viewer a strong sense of the large dome space.

Strength:
Modeling and texturing are ok. There are no obvious mistakes. The lighting is well crafted and works well to create the mood that you are going for. The composition is well done (although we're not wild about the camera tilt). We applaud the effort to tell a story with this image.

Weaknesses:
There is not much detail in the model. The overall lighting is so low that some parts of the image are too dark and the detailing and contrast get lost. There seems to be only one light source. Some of the motion blur in the standing people is too much. The dragon and rocks in the air create a sinister atmosphere in the image, that we feel misses the point of the competition brief. The camera view shows only a small section of the dome. The camera tilt does not help the image.

Overall it works well, but this rendering seems to be more about the dragon chasing people than the project brief. We would like to see more of the domed space.

the modelling is good and the attention to detail.
strange choice of focus though - is the scheme really about the liftshaft?
I'm glad that I'm not the guy in the foreground who is about to get hit by a very slow rock!

Central spine looks good, but the composition is very dull. Clean lines and nice shadowing suit this space. Picking up the curves and the form of the internal spaces. This approach has taken this bit away.
Not sure a dragon really fits, but then im old fasioned
