Modelling: Looks ok, difficult to tell with the bad render quality.

Lighting: Some interesting shots with nice lighting, but the grain and dark contrast are over powering. The internal light was dull and a bit murky, shame really as this has let it down.

Animation: Overall a nice flow, the music aids the visuals well. There is alot going on, and its probably too long. The intro should have been shorter, the white things, leaves im guessing, dont look great, especially with the flicking black edges. It wasnt really needed.
The handheld fireworks at the end were really bad, try not to mix your stock, unless the quality is similar. It left a bad taste at the end.

Overall some nice shots, but the render quality was bad, internal shots lacked definition, the water looked weird, and some dodgy footage at the end didnt help. Too long, really too long!

Overall ok.
The trees sometimes went through walls and solid objects which was distracting. The water was impressive and the wave movement was nice.
The lighting was average. The view from the inside out was nice but everything changed a lot which became distracting-the lighting needed treatment.
There were some nice camera move and an attempt at a cinematic look. You are attempting some difficult stuff here which we appreciated.
The fireworks were an interesting idea.
The problem with the unity is that the beginning segment didn't match or carry over to the second half.

Modeling/Texturing: Pretty good - the natural elements read very well, particularly the water treatment. But the graininess is a let down in some segments.

Lighting: Again, good. The lighting throughout was interesting but in the interior shots, the lighting is so atmospheric it's difficult to tell what's going on to the point that it masks the detail in the model.

Animation: Probably the stongest aspect. Maybe a little long, but the camera moves were very well done, and the music added a great deal to the overall impact.

Creativity: Good, but not great. Probably in the middle of the group.

Unity: This is the weakest aspect. The graininess was very noticable in the beginning of the 3d animation and then got better. The fireworks at the end were also jarring. If there had been a little less of the 2d animation at the beginning and more at the end to "bookend" the presentation, it may have felt more unified.

Brief: Stayed close to the brief and overall very successful.

This is a very ambitious animation, and kudos for that. What strikes us most about this is that the storyboarding is well crafted and the overall cinematography is well done. Unfortunately the overall quality of the main part of the piece looks unfinished and more like a ‘comp.’ A lot of graininess in the final result, and the interior shots (again, quite well composed) lack a certain amount of detail which is masked by the backlighting. The choice of music is well done, although careful about the sound editing at the end. In grading we have given this production more of the benefit of the doubt because unlike others you shot for the moon. You didn’t get there, but at least you achieved orbit.

Really good landscaping and movement. Suffers a bit through the difference in quality between the exterior and interior sequences. The lighting would have been better done as a typical 24 or 12 hour period.
