hi everyone

Can anyone tell me how much does an architectural draftsman get paid on hourly basis in UK. also what does a structural engineer who does drafting exercise in an office gets paid on hourly basis. i am trying to workout an hourly basis cost for one of my clients for architectural and structural drawings drafting .

suppose we have a 5000 sq ft residence for which we have to provide the following drawings
3- 4 floor plans, 2 sections , all 4 elevations , plumbing drawing , electrical drawing , joinery details and few more drawings.
how much time will it take (no of hours) to provide these drawings. I want to get a rough idea not the exact figure . Because i don't want to quote too high or too low . but close to what everyone is charging in UK

its very hard to quantify

depends mainly on location (people in UK get paid more in the London area to balance out cost of living) and experience.

I would say salaries range from £20 for a junior in North to £40+ K for a seasoned technician in the south....sorry I cant be more specific !

its simple... just find out how much work is there... find out how much you going to work on it ...find out what that much time is worth for you and quote... doesnt that make more sense rather than quote what the uk people do?
