If nothing else, Maxwell users have a sense of humor.
Up until now, the newsletters have been nothing but fluff. That could change though. You never know.

No real surprise, as if they could stick to a date
Looks like Next limit will lose some of its users to Fry, I for one will buy it when I can afford it. Those Fry Displacement images look awesome. Duncan H |

I agree, most of the information in the news letters is silly but I guess they had to do something since there hasn't been a core update in about a year. From what I've heard the next release is going to have some nice improvements especially in the network rendering area. If they don't increase the speed though I think they will loose a lot of ground to Fry.

So there you go http://www2.nextlimit.com/newsletter...ter_spr07.html
They decided on Spring newsletter instead of Mapril I took a look, and yes there are some good things, but I guarantee the release is months away. There's not that much info for a newsletter on a product that is supposedly done, and is just going through additional testing. They are yanking us again. |

You can bet on it. Another thing you can bet on- if it comes from Mverta, it's almost certainly untrue. He's doing a masterful job of smearing Fry, and it's because Fry's functionality (in beta!) is miles ahead of Maxwell. Since Maxwell can't compete on features, Mverta's trying to convince everyone that there's some huge gap in image quality. I don't see it, and I don't think it exists.
Up to now, we had no way to know why Maxwell's development was so slow. Now, seeing how Fry got such a late start and still has so much more functionality than Maxwell already, it's clear that the NL guys are as incompetent as most suspected. Or, to summarize: Maxwell- talk big, deliver small (if at all). Fry- talk small (though openly), deliver BIG. |
