Default Aaron Coon - WIP

The camera location and lighting are just a start, not final locations. I want to place lights on the patio and in the pool for a semi day / night scene. Who knows, maybe I'll attempt some caustics from the pool. The background will be a matte painting of rolling hills of Tuscany. I don't want to use a googled picture that someone else took.

Hi there!

Nice modeling and nice mood! By the way, aren't the roof tiles big in scale? I also love to see the the final output of this. Please post it too! Really inspirational.

Here in Tuscany, we like our roof tiles big. AH AH AH. Thanks for the comments. The model was provided by Brian Smith. I've yet to do any modeling. The contestents are provided with 5 models to choose from. Brian, are those roof tiles too big?

my immediate reaction is that you could use a little more sky at the top of the image.

Default Aaron Coon - WIP-02

It's a good suggestion to add more sky. I'm going with that. I've started to sketch out a game plan. I plan to model a hot tub in the lower left corner. Maybe there will be steps down to it to make the terrain around the pool less flat. After all, this is in Tuscany I might change the pool so it's more rounded too. Hopefully, that's not considered to be a significant change to the model.

Nice gameplan, interested to see how you handle the caustics from the pool. That could be cool reflecting light up onto the house. Looks like a good story and start to the competition, good luck.

I've roughed in the hot tub and I'm trying to decide on the sun location.

I think the second image would achieve better effects with side back light , and also help illustrate the architecture.
