Default Neha Kakkar - WIP (May 18)

Hello...I'm posting an update after a long time. Due to the low settings, texture details are not seen, but I have no time to spare for hi quality test renders now.

I find the red flags rather disturbing right now, maybe once the landscape is done & more colors are introduced, it will get balanced. If not, I'll decease the saturation a bit.

C & Cs are very welcome. I'll try to post some close-ups later to show the details.

go Neha go

I like the people and the hedges. The background trees look too large. I think.

I agree with the red flags, the diffuse red is over powering and almost looks post work. I have to say it is working pretty well, from the thumbnail in the post, I thought you were posting a reference photo, so I would say lighting, etc. is working well

Aaron was posting the same time I was, I agree with the tree comment, the background looks like it is the wrong scale.

Hey Neha Kakkar, Very nich texturing, I think it is better to make the red & white stone more unisonous or only use one of them.

I think the trees are OK for height, just too pointy.

The red is too much, but you know that. I would suggest to get the top flag away from the crown peak of the dome--it would be better to see the full half of it so you establish the shape. It would be good if you could get just a little more light into the three big arches--left, right and center.

Otherwise, its looking fantastic.

Hi Neha,
That is realy a very nice work, but i think flags are little distracting. you can make flags look little lite in color, they very dark.. overall its a fantastic work..

All The Best...

I've been showing your earlier WIP's to some of the undergards as a model for how important modeling, shooting, and lighting is on a digital piece (in a good way), so I did a double take when I saw this latest wip. Truly amazing.

the people feel a little photoshoped (ie, stiff) compared to the rest. I agree about the flag. It feels too saturated versus the rest of the image's tone.

i will do the unthinkable and disagree with Ernest. Feels like the interior of the arches are getting too much light as is. I'm loving the painted feel though...

again, amazing work

Somebody has to disagree, might as well be you. The painted feel is what caught my eye, too. It's especially noticeable in the foreground.

OK, I tried my suggestion and I'm not sure it is an improvement. I did one with some white 'softlight' painted in, and another with slightly more contrast and darker, in the arches. Which is better, or is the picture actually best as it is?

Aaron & Russell, thanks I'll rework on the trees.

liuxianfang, I'm not sure what you mean. Don't you feel it will become too monotonous and boring if I remove various textures and use just a single one instead?

Doron, Wow...my work to the undergrads..sounds cool I'm hoping the people would look OK in the hi-res render, if they don't I'll render them in a seperate pass and compose them to go with rest of the image. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll keep an eye on it.

Snehal, thanks...like I mentioned in my post, I'm working on it

Bryan, Thanks

Ernest, Thanks a lot for the PS work, the flag shifted makes the dome look great indeed! I'll post the hi-res render as soon as I'm done with the 3d work, it would be great to have your opinion then about the lighting level inside the arches, it would be much simpler to judge it on a higher resolution.
