Default a school

I'm a 30 years old architect

I have to begin a cg school for this summer, I'm just interested on Architectural and design Rendering

i have this choices

a one week cours on Maya an Maxwell render

very intensive on a very good school (a sort of gnomon on italian ground)

a 2 weeks on just modelling and rendering on 3dmax (in the south of italy i think a less experienced school respect the first one)

the problem is I cannot attend them durin normal years day, just on summer

the other think is i'm a very good user of lightwave+fprim+kray but i feel a little bit out of the mainstream with this program

let me know your ideas and experiences...

My preference would be the 2 week modeling and rendering 3d max course. I think one week is too short and you would have so much information thrown at you that it may diffucult to retain and use at a later date.

adding to franks choice, after the two weeks you will be able to come back here and build on what you've learned much faster because as i see things the max users are a bit more than the maya users. (not that maya ain't good, because it is) but in general the mainstream in arch viz is max.

You probably also use or have used autocad which also works gr8 with max.

I think you have to ask yourself which app you want to use, max/maya and there are many (under-statement) discusions here on the "which one? max/maya" topic. just search for them
