Default Images for bill boards

Quick question..

We are doing an image that will be posted up on a hoarding, so bill board size. It will be about 4.5m x 2.7m (15' x 7')

I dont want to have to render this out any larger than I have to, due to time etc.. I have never really had to render anything out this large so my question is:

What would be a reasonable size to render this out at, and still maintain enough quality for a large billboard viewing?

Obviously, the more dpi I can get into it, the better. What I dont want to do though, is render out my image at super high res, then all of my additions i.e. people, sky, trees etc.. cannot keep up with the res' of my main image..

Any advice, clues of what people have done greatly appreciated..

The joy of Google..

Looks like I may have found an answer.

If anyone is interested, here is quite a good explanation:

haven't read that, but a rendering at 6000-8000 pixels should be more than ample.

it is good idea to reach some printing company, but for myself 15-25DPI is good enough for image looking from 10-15m distance.
You can look at it like A4 sized paper with 300DPI.
