Hello everyone I have a question and would like any suggestions you might have. I have a model I did in 3d viz, total faces about 250,000 and it takes forever to render shadows. If I render without shadows it takes about 2 min to render which is good but I have 5 lights in the scene only on ray trace light don't quit now why it is taking so long. The computer I have is a P4 1.4 GB with not much ram could this be part of the problem? Need to know won't get new computer for a few weeks so.
Thanks for any help.

Hey Superdave,
To check if RAM is an issue open up your task manager (Right click on the clock in the lower left and go to the Performance tab). Start your rendering process and observer the MEM usage box. Compare this with Total Physical Memory and you will be able to detemine if you are paging to disk (ie you have run out of RAM) If this is the case either optimize your model or raytace settings or get more RAM.
