i'm afraid i don't know, there isn't any titles / credits on the animation and it isn't mentioned in the article. The stadium however, is designed by HOK sports

This is clever, and well done (I think... the quality of the video is abysmal) but am I the only one who is getting a little tired of the "gimmicks" in a lot of the architectural animations done by large studios? I half expected a giant silver woman to come and trample the place.

What you have to remember, is that this video is aimed at so many different audiences, not just people in the industry or people that may deal with these type of things on a weekly basis.

Its a world marketing tool.. Britain really has to sell this idea to make it a success.. otherwise we will be left with another millennium dome. I know we already have the games, but its not just about that. There is a long way to go to get many people on side, and making the right investments at the right levels.

It is over the top.. but it is such a massive project, and not just for this particular stadium, but for the whole scheme.

the video compression is awfull, and they've use a lot of typical cheesey effects and the choice of sound track isn't to my choosing, but as Andy says, they're selling to the massive audiance and i think the package they've produced as most impressive.

The "gimmicks" are not just something in Arch Viz, it's a reflection of what is being done in advertising world in general, which is where a lot of the concepts are being borrowed from. As the industry evolves and clients become more educated, market to larger worldwide audiences, and require something that stands out, I think we will continue to see arch viz mirror the advertising world. The flavor of the "gimmick" will change over time, just as it does in TV commercials, but I see no reason the general direction we are heading will change. Just like TV commercials some are better executed than others, but at the end of the day this type of commercial animation is all about marketing and almost nothing to do with the actual design. It's all about selling an idea and a feeling. my 2 cents.

A much better quality version of this video can be found here:

http://http://www.london2012.com/blog/2007/11/07/video-olympic-stadium-design.php

And to top it all, it supports Firefox.
