Default AutoCad Drawings?

I got a question, im just a beginner so i dont know any better. My question is how do you cger's start your building, do you make floor plans in autocad and then import it into 3ds max or how do you start your building from scratch? Thanks, i know it might seem like a newb question but i needed to ask. Thanks again

scott

there are lots of previous threads on this discussion if you do a search through the forums.

i think the opinions that you will receive will vary depending on the individuals preference and experience, which really is the answer........

there is no one right way to do things, it depends on what you are most comfortable with.

i personally do most of my modeling in autocad and link/import to MAX, but i would never suggest that this is the standard or right way....works for me though !

As Paul said depends alot on personal preference no one right way of doing things, the advantage of modeling in Autocad in my opinion is its more accurate especialy if you then have to produce working drawings .

Good to know both ways if only so you can say you can.

i model all in 3dmax if i'm going to start from scratch and
i get it as precise as it needs to be, but if you're starting out and know both CAd programs and modeling programs it would be good for you to find out by yourself, i can only suggest you practice a lot of both
