Default file protection

Hi guys , I am working for a client that wants all the files send by email to be encrypted for protection. Is there anybody there that can recomend a software that does that , please.

PGP is supposed to be pretty secure and easy to use - http://www.pgp.com/

wouldn't it be easier to send it through a password protected ftp site? You could also pasword protect the file whne you zip it.
