does anybody know of where a good 3dmax golf course tutorial is? or what the best way to create a golf course would be? eg bunkers and having the fairway lay across the terrain

here's one way I have done a golf course:
start with a plane - Use the FFD box modifier to start pushing and pulling your terrain (don't use the Max terrain modifier with topo lines). In poly edit mode you can paint-in smaller features if you need to. Use shape merge using a closed spline over the terrain for your greens. You probably want to do that first. If you have to model something pretty accurate then build the terrain with topo information and use the terrain modifier - then drape a plane over the model and use the cloth modifier so make a smooth surface, then delete the terrain under it. |
