Default Can anybody translate this for Mental Ray

I found this cool 'making of' for a vray scene over on 3dtotal website, the creator details his settings for his rugs that surround the toilet etc (which look perfect for what i want to achieve.

Only problem is i'm using mental ray

so is anybody able to translate these hair and fur settings so that the rug would look exactly the same in mental ray??? i am unsure of which settings to change on the mental ray hair and fur with regards to the settings he details for vray

here's the link to the 'making of'

I think there is a script that will 'convert' a v-ray material to A&D Material.

It was mentioned here, so try searching for script v-ray material A&D

Cheers

The Vray hair is a plugin for Vray, so there's it's not a material for conversion.

Dave, just use Max's hair modifier either in geometry mode or mrPrim mode. There's a grass example/tutorial that should get you going.

In addition to that, you could try the grass-o-matic plugin:
