render window overlay

Anyone know how to get the render window to overlay multiple renderings in Mental Ray using 3ds Max 2008? After rendering a view if I render a "Region" the rest of the image goes black. It works the way I want in the default renderer and vRay but not in MR.
Anyone? Bueller?
