Default CPU Limitations

Hi Guys

I'm Wondering what is the limitation of Mentalray in 3dsmax or Maya?

Is it CPUs? Cores? or Machines?

And Can I Purchase Additional CPU Licenses with out jumping to standalone?

Thanks

As far as i know, the main limitation overall it's RAM. CPU it's more about speed and number of threads. Cheers.

Its cores, mainly for distributed bucket rendering, restricted to 8 cores.

Backburner isnt limited to number of machines

in Max2009 (out already) there is a 512 core limit.

You're going to need some kind of network rendering software similar to backburner in Max...I think you have your work cut out for you, I remember trying to network render with maya....not fun
