Hi Flavio,

Well i'm very annoyed as you have posted before me, it seems we have pretty much the exact same concept for the tourist centre. I guess i will have t go back to the drawing board now.

As you can imagine i think the concept is great,

Congrats!

PS: i am also using max and have no textures on the model.

hmmm,, looks very playful! To be honest I was thinking I would be designing something down that line if I had entered the competition.

I also had some problems with textures. Looks like model is not mapped. I think simple box uv map should work fine for tower. The trick is to put 4 separate textures of side walls in right order.
Nice concept. Maybe difficult to model.

Sketch-up pro textured model posted by Jeff today:

http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/29654-...wer-model.html

Flavio, i really like your scheme..seems like something that would really be interesting to visit and interact with if visiting the lighthouse. I know it's not required in this competition, but i would really be interested to see how you would plan your centre =) i'm curious to see how you would program the spaces, and guide your visitors' flow and orientation (since it's mostly underground).

And on a last remark, i was wondering, were you going for a matte painting and composition approach for the image, or are you just using this as a guide line to entirely remodel the terrain?

good luck! =)

No worries i have adapted my idea into something i am happy with now.

Have you had any luck with the model in 3ds max, i've had it converted to 3Ds and FBX from Sketchup model but it's still coming in with either no textures or divided into hundreds of seperate texture images.

Let me know if you've had any luck

Cheers
Chris

The concept seems intact as a whole and may work well IMO.
Is this your proposed view?
Looks a little mystical and on the fantasy side of things
I wonder how it will progress.
The arced windows remind me a little of elf huts - as they are quite commonly drawn in such a manner on trees (or was that smth else?)

P.s. The green roof is a good idea - definetaly will contribute in bringing the image to life.
