Default Is there any reason to use shutter+aperture+iso?

When using mr Photographic Exposure Control, is there any good reason to use Aperture + Shutter Speed + ISO and not just a single EV input!?

The manual states that shutter speed has no effect on motion blur, and ISO has no affect on image grain - so why bother fiddling with 3 values when you can do the same (?) with 1?

It's to give it an analogue to the real world - a lot of people understand those values, where EV is made up.

Also you can really fine tune the exposure where as EV is more robust.

and if you know the camera setup of a photo you are matching you can quickly match the exposure using the physical sun and sky... from experience its pretty damn good at that.

I had never considered that aspect of it, but that's a very good point!

My (tiny) Preview window doesn't seem to work when I switched from Log to Photographic - am I alone?

As said above, it's mostly for familiarity. There is no "functional difference" between tweaking the EV and changing the others.

If you want that, though, you can try this link

It sounds sexier to mess with the Aperture + Shutter Speed + ISO than the EV. Sex sells.
