I wanted the tower to be the center of activity, and after numerious designs I have finally decided to add something like an outdoor theater and a cafe/observation tower. I tried to make the design to dedicate the structure of the tower, therefore, my design is almost part of the tower.

Good stuff - quite refreshing to see an image so close to the tower, and the portrait format emphasises it well. I particularly like the open wooden floor space and the auditorium of your design too.
However, it's a little difficult to get a sense of scale from the image - there's very little background context, and no people or anything, so it's very hard to get a sense of where it is or how big it is. I guess that's something that can be easily rectified in the animation, though. Look forward to seeing it! |

Arthur,
i really love the simplicity of your design..it's so effective! I mean there's an opend podium, and a sheltered cafe! =) and the fact that you have to interact with the tower in order to get to the cafe is very authentic, and ads to the experience. i give you props for design! one question though... i'm assuming the frosted glass area toawrds the back of the cafe is a services area (kitchen, toilets, etc...).. couldnt you find a way to locate it under the platform in some way, so as to not obstruct the views? or was it essential in the aethetics of your design? It doesnt look bad, i'm just wondering... As for the rendering, needless to say, it needs a lot of work, as it seems unfinished.. but i'm sure you already knew that and are working on adding all the details for the animation as we speak

this is quit an architectural render, I feel there is nothing wrong with the render it self, but do agree with the previous posts about the cafe and props.
My crit would also come down to the integration with the environment (the post production). I feel the grass was a fast job and makes the image very flat. also the way the background was put behind the render, with a very sharp dark edge, maybe blurring the edge 2 pixels wide would blend it mode with the background. Other than that, your design is very refreshing indeed! |

Thanks guys, I will defenatly keep your comments in mind for the animation phase. I will tweak the design a little bit, especially as Amer pointed out about the service area. It is indeed better to show more views instead of blocking it by the toilets. This next few weeks will be pretty difficult and exciting, because not only we have to make animation, I guess most of us will have to learn it too, like me...

I like it
It has a very architectural/concept render style to it. Agree with the comments before my thread about the rushed job on certain issues. The composition is nice. What Im missing here are some people - white silouettes - cutouts or just contours. It would add more spice to you stylized rendering. Nice work Good luck!

Hi Arthur...
A nice design. very architectural but the presentation is not. it looks more like a half hearted render which you've started as photo realistic but finished as a conceptual one. i think you had a good opprtunity to present your render in a studio style like a peper model photography on an architectural studio. good Luck!! |

Arthur,
I really like your concept and the overall mood of your final piece. However, the rendering looks a little bit rushed. The lighting is nice but the texture work needs some attention. The water shader doesn't look beliveable for example. The same can be said about some of the other materials. I wish you could have placed some people interacting with the spaces. Good luck with the animation! E |
