I need some help making some columns sculptures glow at night within a scene with Mental ray. When I render it using photometric lights the scene is almost all black even if I make the multiplier really high. I have to zoom in really close to see anything at all. I have attached a picture of what I am trying to have emit light. It's a cylinder within a wire mesh. I am not looking for anything too specific, I just want them to look good in a night scene for a project. Thanks

I know this subject must be old and boring to many of you but it's giving me a headache to figure out. If someone could explain what I'm missing here it would help a lot, I'm sure it's something obvious. I have attached a picture of what the rendered scene looks light
