It looks like Autodesk has bought Realviz
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...&siteID=123112 It makes me sad every time a big company swallows a smaller one. It is really bad for the competition with just a few big actors, like Autodesk and Adobe, Microsoft and Apple. I use ImageModeler from Realviz, so now this makes me an Autodesk user again (I also owned LightScape and Autodesk Animator) - but not by choice. IMO Realviz was not a well-run company, Imagemodeler hasn't been updated in 3 years although it is quite buggy, but it is still sad to see that the big ones get bigger while the small ones die. At least it looks like they will keep IM a standalone program, as opposed to MatchMover, ReTimer and VTour (which was promising, but very buggy when I tried it) which will be incorporated into Max or whatever? |

Like I said in a different forum, Microsoft, Google and Autodesk are the new "Big Three."
You know those sci-fi movies where one big mega-corporation runs the planet? Prepare for 'Microogledesk!' |

i think it was the best thing that could happened to RealViz, the most useful soft was matchmover because the other ones were buggy as hell and there wasn´t any real update in like 3 years in any RealViz software IMO. I heard that the matchmover core technology it´s going to be implented in the big cows like Flame,Flint, Inferno etc and it may be in Maya too because Maya Live is pretty much dead compare to any trackin software outhere, i just hope any of this technology can be implemented in 3ds Max for the ArchViz field, it will be very handy for sure.

I think "Mexican American Grocers Association (MAGA)" will be autodesks' next purchase.
