Lofting Gables???

I am trying my first model using the loft modifier after always in the past creating walls by extruding linework created in CAD. I am fine with box shaped objects, creating a simple spline in cad to represent the wall and the fascia and applying it to the floorplan. I can't get my head around how I am going to use this method to create the gable. Is it possible to do this using lofts, or am I better of going back to extruding for this?

Can you sketch what you are trying to create because I can't think of a reason why you would want to use lofts for walls...at least not if I think I understand what you might be trying to do.
