Default looking for new pc

i'm going to buy a new pc for myself and was wandering if u guys could suggest any good productive and not skyhigh price pc specifications, like what graphics card, how many gigs of RAM whitch windows cause i think windows 64 doesn't support autocad etc. ....all replies will be very helpfull

XP64 supports several versions of AutoCAD. Which one do you use? Vista doesn't run Autodesk products more than a couple versions old... I think 2008 is supported but not 2007... I could be wrong.

As for the specs, it depends a lot on your budget, but it's hard to go wrong with a Core 2 Quad box with 4GB RAM and a Geforce 8800 series. (Unless you run Revit - then it's very easy to go wrong with a Geforce and what you really want is a FireGL.)

i'm having the first offer and it look's like this

procesot: intel core2quad q6700 2.66GHZ

motherboard: Intel "bonetrail2" atx lga775 x 48 bulk

graphics card: PNY QUADRO FX 560 PCIE 128M PRO VIDEO ED

RAM: corsair 2x2GB DDR2 1066MHZ KIT CL5 DHX

hard drive:2 x HDD desktop SEGATE Barracuda 7200.11 500GB

i had a chat with my computer friend and he said it is gr8 pc ....but he's not architect and visualizator so he could not know smth u guys know, o....any critique would be very helpfull at this point, before i decided to buy it

Swap the quadro for a 8800GTX, and either up the CPU speed, or get 2xquadcores...

mainly i use autocad 2008 and 3dsmax9+vray but i want to learn revit to and work some stuff there...so as far as i can see i cannot go for gforce8800 or am i wrong?

omfg i have red the entire thead about quadro1700 against gforce8800 and complitaly lost it.....now i'm even more comfused then before....is quadro beter or gforce....soooooo comfusing......

From all my research... quadro is SLIGHTLY better, like 5% better, however 200% the price which is rediculous.

Get 2x8800GT(X) and SLi them together, would kick anything Quadro has and still cheaper.
