nice read

though it does ask a few questions that go unanswered

I think the Open Design Alliance with the direction and progress they have made with OpenDWG & OpenDGN is also a reason for this team-up. Also i think a possible buy out of Bentley sounds feasible too but these are both speculations of my own.

interoperability and open standards are SO key as I have known for a long time now allowing team members to work with different tools but still together.
