Hi,
I've got to produce an external shot of a college at dusk. We're after a nice sunset image with the majority of the rooms illuminated with a nice warm light. The building also includes a central glass atrium. What's the best way of lighting it? I don't want to attach emitters to all the various light fittings as there'll be hundreds of them and we only have a weekend to render it on one machine! I'm basically thinking along the lines of large planes casting light but which are invisible to the camera. Is this possible in Maxwell? Any help much appreciated!! |

Hi Derek,
If you search the maxwell forum for "hidden lights" I think you will come up with a method tom came up with for doing what you want. Honestly though, I haven't used Maxwell in a while. Maybe they have a setting for it now, but I'm not aware of one.

Thanks Fran, discovered how to hide emitters now.
Not sure what the best approach is though, as shadows will make it very obvious where the light source is, but I'll need to put it on the wall facing the windows if I'm to get a light glowing out... |
