Question Mirror-like glass at certain angles (interior)

Hi, I've been playing with this mat but couldn't get it right.
As you could probably see in the attached img, some of the glass panels along the handrails are acting as if they were mirrors. (but the same material worked fine for the roof and shopfront windows and they are transparent)

It is just a standard glass material that I'm having..
Diffuse: black, fresnel reflections checked
Reflect: gray almost white
Refraction: white, affect shadow/alpha checked

can anyone tell what's wrong? Thx.

does all of your glass have a thickness? if the roof and shop windows have a proper thickness but the railing is just a single plane, then the single plane geometry will act as a mirror.

A proper glass material needs the thickness to properly refract the light, if you only get a single refraction then you won't see any transparency in your object and you are left with just the reflection hence the mirror effect.

yes Brian, it was the problem with my modelling, the glass became transparent after I face extruded the geometry and applied shell. thanks.
