Not all was what it seemed during the spectacular opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. Beijing organizers confirmed Tuesday that some of the fireworks display featured prerecorded footage. The computerized images were produced by Crystal Digital Technology Co. of Beijing.

Have they posted their portfolio here?
Just wondering... I saw that on www.ninemsn.com.au and was really annoyed. The network is defending itself by saying "the announcers told the viewers that there was CGI". BUT - the announcers said, "this is truly a cinematic experience that you are watching right now..." What hogwash! Using euphemisms that can be EASILY confused for adjectives or metaphors is just plain lying in my book. |

What do you expect from one of the most controlling communist governments in the world..?
They will report what they want, when they want too... Its been like it for years and isnt going to change for the sake of the Olympics.. if anything, it would get worse. Do they really want the whole world to see how things really are in their country..?

The most ridiculous thing to me is the news of the two elderly women who were sentenced to 2 years of "re-education through labor" for attempting to obtain a permit to legally protest in an "official Olympic protest area" that the Chinese government set up for that supposed very purpose. Curiously enough, no permits were actually issued to protest.
