i'm creating another user. another log in account for a friend. which is fine, but i've got 2 or 3 folders on my C drive with private info in them i dont want another user accounts to be about to see.
I thought i could right click on > properties > sharing and check the box, but it's always grayed out. - ![]() so how do i make a folder on my C drive only visible to my log in account, or password accessible? thanks |

You Cannot Select the "Make This Folder Private" Option CAUSE This issue can occur for either of the following reasons: •The folder is not in your user profile (Drive_letter:\Documents and Settings\User_name, where Drive_letter is the drive on which Windows XP is installed and User_name is your user name). The Make this folder private option is available only for files in your user profile (the My Documents folder and its subfolders, and the Cookies, Desktop, Start Menu, or Favorites folders).•The Windows folder is located on a drive that is formatted with the FAT or FAT32 file systems. The Make this folder private option requires the NTFS file system. It's designed to only work with Documents and Settings and on NTFS drives. You can probably make something real low-level with a login script so they can't do anything (or as little as they want).
