Default Fusion Alya Hoi An

That animation must be done at the end of Jun like I said at WIP thread :http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/30943-beach-resort.html but client change some architect detais so delay until last month. We do 2mins animation and about 20 images for their brochure.

You can see some more images here:http://www.vnimation.com/projects/hoian_resort/

Hope you like and C&c are welcome.

I like the images as a set. Some minor issues:

Image 1: The wine bottle in the foreground is poor. Strange diffuse reflections.

Image 2: Star studded sky is a bit too cartoony. Especially with the big 'twinkles'...! The marble / stone texture is tiling badly too.

Image 3: The cloth over the bath is falling in a very unnatural way. Too rigid. Its a tough thing to achieve but needs some work.

Image 4: Quilts / duvets / bed covers (delete as appropriate) are far too rigid and need some work to achieve a bit more realism.

General: I would be a bit more careful in your deployment of the AXYZ people as they the same models tend to pop up a little too much. (it might be because we have exhaustively used the same collection so I see them very easily)

Animation comments: I like the steady-cam feel at the beginning but the floating leaves are bad as you go under the pergola. No stems or branches etc. I like the faded out stairs in the beach villa but again the fabric models are poor. The animated woman character on the balcony is awful too. Stood in a very non-human position...

Its a very competent animation and set of images but not a great wow factor going on. You have some animated elements going on but most of the anim is very static. I'm sure the client is more than satisfied but to be honest it did very little for me. I think it works well in showing some one clearly every element of what they are investing millions in building but does not generate any excitement...

very pleasing, and i'm sure the client will be happy. thats the main thing

but from a personal and artist point of view -

image 1 - looks great. A few area shadows and a more tropical sky would have been nicer.

image 2 - twinkle twinkle little star

image 3 - a bit to uniformly and overly lit for me. more lighting contrast would have been nice. Also, you have refraction through that draped cloth over the bath. obviously this wouldn't be the case

image 4 - looks like you used exponential colour mapping. the internal lightings are very flat and non contrast. the high-end brightness values of the lumins have been clamped. also, the Big Bill mentioned, the linen is too rigid.

Again, the animation is pleasing, but it would have been nice to see some more animation going on within the camera pans rather than the standard pool ripple and tv screen.

Nice Stuff. I like the images and I'm just glad you didn't use clipmaps for the people. Great work.

in the night shot, there is some funky light leak around the details above the arches.
