Default Arts Foundation

Here is both a day and night shot of a proposed Arts Foundation in Milan as part of my Architecture degree. I would appreciate any comments you have.

nice. the large blocks at the bottom right are a bit distracting to me in the day shot.

i am digging your night/rain shot. very moody and a nice change from the typical night shot. is the rain a photoshop blending layer effect?

I like the rain shot a lot! You just need to extend the canvas a little higher.

Night/rain shot looks nice. But is it me or why it bothers me that the rain looks like coming from right and that dude holds umbrella towards left. He's gonna get wet

Thanks for the comments and apologies for the late reply.

The rain was done in Photoshop simply by creating a new layer and filling it with a black , making sure you have white selected as background. Then use the 'add noise' filter so the image becomes covered in black and white dots. Next add a motion blur and select the angle you wish to direct the rain. Finally change this layer to darken to get rid of the black. You may need to change opacity as well.

I used the 'fog' tool in max which also helps the rain blend in with the image.

The building is my design as part of my architectural degree in UK. The form was inspired by geological rock formations using characteristics such as crevasses, shifting strata and canyons to form the basis of the design.

Very nice work Joe. I love the architecture of the building and your description makes it even more wonderful.
Also, thank you for sharing your technique on the rain. I may have to try that. I really love that image.

Great work.
