Very unhappy Lightwave Users, maybe Discreet/Autodesk can make offer them to move to Max, or VIZ, looks like Newtek are not going to give them the features they expect, not even a word or hint.

NewTek looks like a very reserved company, Nobody what is going on, only Character functions on the New LW8 and nothing important for the Viz-Architectural community.

Take a Look, looks like a boiling place.

Very interesting. At SIGGRAPH this year it seemed to me that companies were either completely oblivious to our industry or they were already actively pursing in-roads into our industry. I guess LW falls into the former. SoftImage also fell into that category. I met with the president of SI and he told me it was not about the market but the generic tools that everyone in the CG industy could use. LOL. What planet is he from?

Well, if those generic tools do not work in the current version of the software or still have room for improvement, I can see where that would be a priority for their development team in lieu of niche market development.

Strange, why should a Lightwave user step down to Autodesk products. Newtek changed the complete developement team, so dont expect a big update soon. And i dont now what LW needs to satisfy us archviz people, just the usual faster rendering and better aa quality stuff, like other software users want to have too. There is still no make-nice-archviz button like many of those people want to see.

just my two cents
