Hi all,

Ever wanted to change the look and feel of an image after it's been rendered? I guess so!

Image manipulation programs are widely used for this goal but have you ever passed beyond the look of a default filter? Well here is your chance to do so!

This is the deal: I supply an image, YOU try out different combinations of filters, blendingmodes, software or whatever it takes to give the render a different look (digitized, stylish, painted,...)

Best of luck!

nisus

Here is the image:

And here are a few results of mine using ps7 solely.

Hi nisus,

You´ve gotten some great results.

I really enjoyed the test03, it reminds me an old watercolor rendering. I love well executed watercolor renderings!

Did you keep track of the steps used to get that result? Next time, try it with a larger rendering with trees, cars and people and show us your results.

"See" you later.

Hi Christian,

Tnx for your kind words on the results.

In test 03, I was actually going for that old pencil and butterpaper look, although this is a stripped down version from my original action (which contained more line/edge jitter).

All commands are recorded in actions, so I can apply them to other images with just a click.
Larger renderings do have some problems because of the fixed pixelbased scale of the filters...

here is a more watercolorlike image... test 05

Be sure to make some tests too!

But as I told you , this kind of post is useless,if we just show images without any explanation or explaining what we do.

Not really. The idea is to get a bunch of different styles that can be used for reference, not to make identical replica's.

One can always supply more details if one wants to. This can be a step to step explanation or just a wider discription of the technique, e.g. highpass filter in overlay BM or whatever...

Btw, I like your image, especially the sky. Is that the same process you used on your previous post of that house?

First I had to highly resample your image with no loss, taking it to something like 3.000 x something
with the technique of incremental 10%'s,sharpen & fading in each step.
Afterw. big unsharp: about 300, increase saturation and then the usual.
Cheers!
