Greetings,
Been following the website topics..... I have taken a different approach to my website. It is much bolder and oriented to an audience of individuals res design, main focus- AEC, Realty and Advertising seeking Illustration. Kind of a "Ching" flavor, or anyway that is the inspiration for the background/graphics. It also ties into the marketing side. Letterhead and B-cards all very tightly use variations thereof. The real intent of the bold nature is to grab attention and retain the name. With basic information, short term anyway. web page The site is under construction, with some tentative fundamentals established; I am a little concerned it is over the top. I have gotten to close to it to be objective. Reality check! What are your thoughts? I'll put on my "IronClad Skivies"? :gebigeek: thnx & rgrds WDA

I have something here William, you may enjoy reading. It is a bit blurb-y, and HR talk, but you may like bits of it.

It's a start Will. The background image is a good starting point, however you need to work on your typography. I know you're trying to make everything BOLD to grab attention but to me it looks poorly compositioned and everything is screaming for attention all at once. Makes me not want to read through it at all.
Usually designers composition information to follow a hierarchy - what you want people to read first should be big and stand out (preferably at the top left of the page), the second thing you want read should be smaller, and the last should be the smallest and toward the bottom of your page. The same goes for images, you can use scale and gamma. It all helps to sub-consciously direct your reader through the whole page. Another thing would be consistency. Most of your pages looks like it should be the same but they're different (ie: some have table borders some dont, text colors are different, and the illustration types page looks totally diff). Consistent pages will help strengthen your site and also add to its credibility. Also, I know you're only using CSS for your background image, but why not use it for all your text as well? Anyway, hope that helps. Keep us updated. Cheers! Gareth:: Forgive my ignorance, but I dont get how your posts relate to Will's site..

Greetings,
Kainoa- Very helpful feedback. Thank you.I got tangled up with up the range of the background image and forcing text and images over, kind of averaged everything out. Quote:
Brian, Looking forward to finding a little free time to respond to last post of yours-arch discussion. Thanks for the links above. Forcing me to go back a third time. Actually stimulated some ideas instead of the blank screen stare. :angedead: Next round of revisions web page revisions Maybe starting to take shape. rgrds WDA
