Question ADT Door material

Hi-
I'm one of those ACAD folks who only gets to use VIZ once every few months, and need to be reminded of what might be going on with a model I've linked to VIZ from ADT.

I have several curtain wall styles and door styles set up in ADT, with ADT Entity Display Property "color" set by layer (and "layer" set to corresponding layer names).
(door/frame layer=171, glazing layer=162)

In VIZ, I've linked by entity.

Both the curtain wall styles and door styles seem to be linking to the #'s.

VIZBlock Modifier lists for both door and curtain wall "components" list:
color: 171
color: 162

I created materials from the "standard" ADT multi-subobject types in VIZ, and assigned material ID's 171/162 with instances of materials in the editor.

Here's the thing I'm confused with:
The curtain walls display with materials applied,
But the doors display with only the glass material applied (door face is black).

I tried turning the door around in ADT, which made the glass material disappear as well.

Any ideas on what might be happening?

(could this be caused by the layer of the profile I used for the door style?)

Thanks for any ideas/info-

Default Re: ADT Door material

Hey,

Try a test run by resetting the entity display to Door=1-red, Glass=2-yellow, Jamb=3-green. Use a viz multi-sub material with slots=#1 door material, #2 glass material, #3 jamb material. Assign the material to the door. That might work.

The other problem would be how Viz interprests ADT AEC design content, you may have flipped normals and coplaner faces that appear dark (un-lit). If thats the case the normal need to be flipped and most likely the model cleaned.

Hopefully some help

Thanks!
Checking "unify normals" in the file link did the trick.
