im a qualified architect technician in the uk, used to work for ian darby architects, pakced that in as it was too technical and went to uni to learn new media design including 3d modelling where ive found a fondness for architectural visualisation, ive used c4d (easy) 3ds max (hard) but the fella i used to work with uses lightwave is this what the majority of arch vis artists use or is it purly down to choice,
yeah just finished a book on 3ds max but could do with some extra learning on rendering and lighting so if anyone can recommend a book appreciate it, cheers dan |

By the way, does anyone have a recommendation for a good in-depth Photoshop book? I've just scratched the surface of multipass rendering and I'd really like to have a much better understanding of layer modes as well as the use of filters. There are so many books out there that it's hard to know where to begin. Jack |

Jack, many book stores carry PS books. Those are quite easy to find, unlike general 3D books. I would start with a classroom in a book version and then move to a master tips style. There are lots to choose from. You might be able to pick up a book for an older version cheaper as well. The core of PS hasnt changed all that much in quite a while, particularily what you are asking about.
