Default Erco lights

Does anyone know if these are a good tool to work with? The only time ive used them is with a mental ray tutorial. Ive been to the websaite and dont seem to be able to download any lights. Are the models free? Any info on these light or any other true value downloadable lights (free or otherwise) would be very much appreciated.

Cheers folks,
Tom.

The models are free and they are excellent to work with. As a background in lighting design I always work with ies lights for my scenes both interior and exterior. Go to Erco.de>Downloads> max or viz I drop. thats it!

All the major light fittings producers have ies data for their products.

The models are free but you may be better of just taking the ies files and referring to the catalogue. The actual models have a little too much detail on e.g. all the junk that sits above the ceiling on a recessed downlighter...or at least they used to have a few years ago.

Have a look and see what you think.
